Throughout the Old Testament, the Lord God always came to the rescue of His people, Israel, when they had turned away from Him and then returned in repentance repeatedly.
God knows the beginning from the end, and the end from the beginning. And still, He endures a relationship with mankind who is complacent, lukewarm, independent, and arrogant.
